Love Note #2

It may be scary and heartbreaking to hold harmful people accountable for what they've done. It's tempting to say that we should have done or been something different so this horrible thing/these horrible things would not have happened. 

That is a lie. 

It's a lie we produce to try to reclaim a sense of control because feeling out of control is more scary and more heartbreaking than being hurt. 

Let yourself be hurt. Let yourself be heartbroken. Broken hearts and hurt bodies can heal. Blaming yourself for the horrible things other people did to you will destroy you.
